DONALD-PORTFOLIO-2

This young family liked the idea of using Mid Century pieces in a warm and fresh way. They were not looking for the cold "cliche" pieces you see every where. We worked with an architect to get the bones right, when that was proceeding we started the fun part. We searched the 5 boroughs , upstate and the internet for just the right pieces. The art, accessories and finishing touches were all part of our adventure.

We had the custom channel sofa made here in the city. Flanking it are walnut and teak side tables topped with Tommy Parzinger lamps. It is fronted by a bronze and glass "faux" bamboo coffee table made in the 60's paired with 2 Harvey Prober chairs covered in family friendly Chocolate Ultra Suede. For extra seating there is a TH Robsjohn-Gibbings slipper chair. The floor has a large wool sisal made to size and edged with leather.

In the living room is this ebonized Credenza from Baker Furniture with woven cane doors. The pull up chairs are by Kofod-Larsen for Selig covered in a "faux" Leopard fur.The amber Decanter is made by the Blenko Glass Co. and the Amber / Brown decanter is from the Greenwich Flint-Craft Co. The painting and sculpture are from unknown artists, but caught the eye of my client on one of our trips to finish the space. The candle holders are in the Parzinger style.
